Welcome back to Revive Your Spine, where we share quick and practical tips to boost your health and well-being. I’m Jae ho Roh, D.C., and today, we’re focusing on a common issue—breaking sedentary habits.
In our modern world, many of us spend a lot of time sitting, whether it’s at a desk, in a car, or on the couch. Prolonged periods of sitting can lead to a range of health problems, including back pain, poor posture, and reduced circulation. But don’t worry—there are simple strategies you can use to move more and break those sedentary habits.
First, try incorporating movement breaks into your daily routine. Set a timer to remind yourself to stand up and stretch or walk around every 30 minutes. Even just a few minutes of movement can help counteract the negative effects of sitting and keep your body feeling better throughout the day.
Next, consider adding more physical activity to your day. This doesn’t have to be intense exercise—simple activities like taking the stairs instead of the elevator, walking or biking to work, or doing a quick workout at home can make a big difference. Find activities you enjoy and make them a regular part of your routine.
Another helpful tip is to create a standing workstation if possible. Using a standing desk or an adjustable desk that allows you to switch between sitting and standing can help reduce the amount of time you spend sitting. Even if you can’t use a standing desk, try to find opportunities to stand while working, such as during phone calls or meetings.
Incorporate movement into your social activities. Instead of meeting friends for coffee or a meal, suggest a walk or a fun physical activity. This way, you can catch up with loved ones while staying active and breaking up sedentary time.
Lastly, don’t forget the power of simple exercises. Incorporate quick stretches or strength-building exercises into your day, such as desk stretches, chair squats, or seated leg lifts. These exercises can be done without leaving your workspace and help keep your body engaged.
Breaking sedentary habits is about making small, consistent changes that add up over time. Wonderful chiropractor. Dr. Roh is invested in your care and takes action for your concerns. I’ve been seeing him for a few months now and highly recommend him. As I get older, I wake up with daily aches. A lot of times I didn’t notice them until they were bad. Now with regular adjustments I feel so much more limber and it’s amazing the difference. Dr. Roh does have packages to make it more affordable and I feel like pricing is just right and well worth it.
Dr Jae.Roh is awesome, helped my recovery in no time.
I highly recommend Revive Chiropractic and Dr. Roh to anyone looking for a chiropractor. My husband and I have been visiting Dr. Roh for nearly 2 months now and every visit has been a positive difference. Our experience from the beginning has been smooth and highly professional. He patiently listens to all our issues without rushing us, takes time not only fixing it but also to explain the underlying cause. We truly appreciate his expertise and knowledge.

I’m a new patient here and Dr. Roh made me feel very comfortable from the first visit. I’ve been going to chiropractors my whole life and felt like I was in good hands as soon as I walked in. I love all the options he offers for treatment and have tried them all so far. I will be bringing my wife and kids here as well. Scott D
